The Resurrection of the Dead
For many centuries, believers have been taught that there will be a future, literal resurrection of the dead. Long dead cells scattered in oceans, urns and fecal matter (as well as the earth) would be reassembled and reanimated into a glorified body.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. (the Nicene Creed)On the great day of the Second Coming of the Son of Man, the General Resurrection of the Dead will occur. All people will rise from their graves in a transformed state. (orthodoxphotos.com)
Will there be a future bodily resurrection of the dead? Does the Inspired Word of God teach such an idea? Questioning this idea has traditionally resulted in the removal of fellowship, and the labeling as "heretic".
